What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and refers to a family of free web feed formats used to publish frequently updated digital content, such as blogs, news feeds or podcasts.
What is the benefit of using the SABM RSS feed?
The SABM RSS feed is an easy way for you to be alerted when new content appears on the SABM website. The RSS feed tells you when something new has been posted such as news related to the society and weekly articles of interest. The feed will contain article headlines, summaries and links back to the news item on the web.
What tools do I need to use RSS?
To start using RSS, you need a program called a 'feed reader' or 'aggregator' that displays RSS content feeds from websites you select. The user 'subscribes' to a free feed by supplying to their 'reader' a link to the feed. There are many different news readers available, many of which are free. Most are available as desktop software that you download and install on your computer. Several web based news readers are available. Also, the latest versions of most browsers have live feed bookmarks built in.
How does an RSS feed work?
The 'reader' checks the user's subscribed feeds to see if any of those feeds have new content since the last time it checked. If so, it retrieves that content and presents it to the user by populating the 'reader.'

What happens if I left click the orange RSS button?
Depending on your browser and the format of the feed, you may see web page code or even a blank page. This does not mean the feed is broken, but is in fact the live feed. You can copy the URL from the browser and paste it into your RSS reader.
