The Society for the Advancement of Blood Management® (SABM®) Annual Meeting is an international forum where patient blood management professionals gather to share ideas and inform one another of best practices, research discoveries, regulatory changes related to blood management, new blood management techniques, and effective blood management products.

Educational activities begin on Thursday, September 23 at 8:00 a.m. with a pre-conference event: Blood Management from a Nursing Perspective planned by SABM's Nurses Work Group.

Presentations at the Annual Meeting are given by leading patient blood management experts in their fields. The sessions are planned and implemented in accordance with generally accepted standards for conducting continuing medical education activities.

Topics for this year's meeting will be:

  1. Hemostasis Management
  2. Anemia Management
  3. Current Trends in Patient Blood Management

Accreditation with Commendation
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of Swedish Medical Center and the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management. Swedish Medical Center is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
Swedish Medical Center designates this educational activity to a maximum of 19.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing CE Contact Hours
Contact hours for this continuing nursing education activity has been submitted to Swedish Medical Center an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Perfusionist CEUs
The American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) designates this educational activity to a maximum of 22.8 Category I CEU credits. Perfusionists should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

SABM Physician Training Programs
Sponsor Your Resident at the Annual Meeting
was created to encourage physician members to introduce your student and resident physicians to blood management at the SABM Annual Meeting. SABM Physician members who sponsor their resident’s attendance at the annual meeting by providing travel, lodging, and meals may apply for their resident to receive free registration and a one year SABM membership.

The SABM International Physician Training Program offers waived Annual Meeting registration and a one year SABM membership to international physicians who train in patient blood management at a member's hospital.
